中央研究院「明清研究推动委员会」由史语所、近史所、近史所、台史所研究人员共同组成。每两年举办一次大规模明清研究国际研讨会。本届研讨会扩大举办规模，以两天四个场地同时进行。会议分成「社会文化」、「文学艺术」、「学术思想」、「政经制度」四大主题，共包含36个次主题，以观念的形成与变迁、知识的传播与接受、文化的交流与对话等多元角度，讨论明清时期从物质到精神、四民到帝王、国境到边檄乃至他界等各个面向，充分展现当前海内外不同世代明清研究学者的最新研究成果与心得。
